(Dancing with Don Eng at the show on Thursday night. Photo by Stana.)
A good time was had by us at the Life During Wartime show, produced by Chris Lee, featuring me and my old poetry cohorts Spyro and Boni Joi, and music by Prowers. Chris complained after seeing me at KGB that I didn't do any of my old stuff, so I dug out "The New, Improved Girlfriend" (1992), and "Love Letter to his Dick" (1995); keeping with the castration theme, I read "A Flaming Asteroid Hits My Ex-Boss in the Nuts" (I didn't wind up reading it at KGB); and keeping with the theme of the evening, I read "Mommy, Tell Me About the War." In the house: old Williamsburg pals Jon and Frank, old dot com pal Justin Davila, old high school pal Stana, old open mike pal Don Eng; also great to see the awesome Ms. Judy McGuire there with her beau Spyro.
That's it for the poetry readings for a while, but I'll be storytelling on Thursday the 23rd at the Escape! Arrival! Disappointment! show in Boston, presented by Nextbook. Then I've got a private workshop for the women of Girls Write Now, but no other public appearances scheduled until February's Mixer series. Guess I'll have to actually, you know, sit at my desk, and write. BLARGH.
You are adorable. Just when I am so busy I can't keep up with your blog, you start posting more. I don't know if there is a connection but if any of your readers want to try keeping me busy, perhaps we could test this out further and see how your blogging aligns with my life.

Did you have to reimburse the establishment for the cut rug?
